A Message From Our CEO

Welcome to the Property Sector Charter Council (PSCC) website. As the executive authority on the transformation of the property sector, the PSCC is dedicated to fostering a future where inclusivity, equity, and sustainability are not just ideals but everyday realities. Our mission is to breathe life into the transformation journey and support our members at every step, ensuring the tangible execution of our vision. Our country stands at a pivotal moment in history, where the confluence of innovation, community engagement, and responsible development can create a lasting impact on our society. The Property Sector Code is a cornerstone of our efforts, serving as a comprehensive guide for the sector's transformation. However, we recognize that a document alone cannot drive change. It is through committed implementation and the realization of its impact that true transformation occurs. At the heart of our endeavours lies a commitment to transformation. We are dedicated to empowering previously disadvantaged communities, ensuring that the benefits of our sector are shared equitably across all levels of society. Since its inception, we have revised the Property Sector Code twice—in 2012 and again in 2017—to better reflect the evolving landscape and the latest Codes of Good Practice. We are currently working on an amended revised code to capture the latest changes and continue our progress. While we have seen commendable efforts from some segments and members within the property sector, there is still much work to be done. The transformation journey is ongoing, and it requires the collective commitment of all stakeholders within our industry. The PSCC is here to provide the guidance and support, necessary to drive this change. We have made the decision to use Property Charter Foundation (NPO) that is a subsidiary of PSCC, which seeks to bring Transformation in Action, to expand our position beyond regulatory monitoring. To support our sector's members in their efforts towards transforming the sector and promote a culture of ongoing positive impact, we provide a variety of platforms that promote change and a positive impact in our industry. These platforms are fueled by our four main pillars, which are: skill development, training and education; job creation and opportunities; SMME business development; and enabling market access. The challenges ahead are significant, but the opportunities are even greater. Together, we can create a property sector that not only meets the needs of today but also paves the way for a brighter, more inclusive equitable, and prosperous future. Thank you for visiting our website. I invite you to reach out to us and collaborate on this transformative journey of achieving greater impact together and becoming an integral part of a community committed to real, impactful change.

Ms Portia Tau-Sekati
